Recently I cut my hair. We are not talking just a little trim. Honestly I probably lost a good amount of weight (; I decided to cut off a bit over 15 inches and give it to Pantene and their “Beautiful Lengths” project. They are making wigs out of donated hair and giving them to HairUWear which makes wigs and gives them to women who are undergoing treatment for cancer.
I understand, people can get really attached to their hair, for example when the hairdresser cuts a centimeter too short and it seems like it’s the end of the world. But I’ve got news for you…it grows back. Why not give someone struggling with sickness, confidence, and overall health, a little hairy happiness and give them some lovely locks. It is quite wonderful what something as menial as hair can mean to someone.
My hair is growing right now, and will continue to grow back to its hippie-like length. If you have ever considered it, don’t hesitate to donate, just do it. Don’t over think it, you are making someone’s life a lot brighter, and you will feel great!
